It wasn't until we were knee-deep in a whole house refresh that it became abundantly clear: It was way past time our kids' baths, grew up.
With a family of twenty-somethings, more like occasional visitors than full-time live-ins, we knew someday an upgrade was inevitable. But with the sale of our house just a heartbeat away, that someday pretty much needed to be now! Yep, ......it was guest bath time.
The problem? Clearly a quickie upstyle would be great for resale. But in this not-so-great Chicago real estate market, investing more money into our 30 year old Georgian had its risks. The solution? Keeping this project totally budget-friendly and focusing only on updates that offer the greatest return .
So right to the top of our ever growing to-do list went a two bath mini-makeover. And priority one: The vanities.
Forget that I'm 100% a custom cabinet kind of gal. This time around a more affordable choice---like some of the fabulous stock vanities most home design retailers offer today---was a perfect first step. Turns out there's an unbelievable range of options, styles and features to suit just about every taste and design aesthetic. Not to mention, a wide variety of price points, even for a budget-conscientious project like ours. Who knew?
With so many to choose from, it wasn't easy narrowing down my favorites. But these lucky seven offer a little something for everyone. And are bound to inspire anyone considering transitioning a kiddy bath into adulthood. As for our plans to move forward, we'll keep these in mind as we weigh all our options. But I have to admit, I am more than pleasantly surprised.......
